COVID-19 Policies & Practices

Dentist Open During the Coronavirus in Prairie Village, Leawood, & Overland Park KS

Our community has been through a lot over these last few months, and now that we have resumed our normal habits and routines, I would like to share with you our office protocols and guidelines for your visits. We were given permission by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to return to our office to provide dental care on Monday, May 4th. We have taken measures to assure that your visit will remain as safe and comfortable as it has been in the past.

Our office has implemented the IQAir HealthPro Plus air purifier. This product features HyperHEPA filtration technology for superior airborne particle removal. Independent third party laboratory testing finds this product removes ultrafine particles that are 10 times smaller than a virus.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the ADA, CDC, OSHA. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We are incorporating a hospital-grade disinfectant throughout our treatment rooms, along with doing weekly testing to our sterilization machines to ensure all bacteria spores are killed.

You will see some changes for your protection when it is time for your next appointment…

At appointment confirmation and at check-in you will be asked the following questions:

In the last fourteen days have you…..

  • had a fever above 100.4?
  • had any flu-like symptoms?
  • had a cough/sniffles/headache?
  • loss your taste or smell?
  • traveled by air?
  • been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient?

If your answer is YES to any, we will request that your appointment be rescheduled at least two weeks out and until symptoms are resolved.

  • Upon arriving your temperature will be taken with a touchless digital thermometer
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients and staff
  • At this time we ask that the reception area is only for patients
  • A mask that covers your nose and mouth is required
  • There is hand sanitizer that we ask you to use when you enter the office
  • Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or toys since they are difficult to disinfect
  • Each patient will be asked to rinse with an antiseptic rinse before your dental procedure

Our PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) now incorporates the following….

  • In addition to our high-level filtration surgical masks and gloves, we have added extra equipment such as…face shields, hair protection, shoe covers, and disposable gowns.

Our office is committed to our promise of providing an optimal patient experience each and every time.
